Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

If Contact Form setting for Email Sender is set to Contact, yahoo and aol....

9 years 8 months ago #17665 by jgress
Hello!!

The entire subject line is:
If Contact Form setting for Email Sender is set to Contact, yahoo and aol accounts don't land in the contact email box. Yet they do land in the Blind Copy fields email addresses. Odd.

So let me say it a different way:

Joomla 3.3.2
Contact Enhanced 3.3.1

In the Global Options in the Contact Form tab, if I set the Email Sender field to "Contact" instead of (Use Global), yahoo and aol email addresses backfire/reject/delivery failure the message to the contact (a gmail address). Interestingly though, in the Contacts Contact Form setting in the Blind Copy field, those emails get the email from the yahoo or aol address. Just the main contact email does not get it.

If I change the Global Options in the Contact Form tab to Email Sender "Use Global" then it works, but then they can't just click "Reply" to reply to the form submitter.

Is this working this way by design? It seems odd to me that the Blind Copy email addresses (also gmail accounts) receive it but the main contact email does not.

Any thoughts?

Jenn :)

Dear Jenn,

Some mail servers and mail clients have different anti-spam features, that's why the default setting is "Use Global".
Which mailer are you using in Joomla Global Configuration. Setting it to SMTP might solve this issue, because the email messages are authenticated by a valid mail server;

When you set "Email Sender" option to "Use Global" instead of "Contact", Contact Enhanced will add the Contact's email address to the Reply-to email field, so when you hit the reply button the mail client (Outlook, Thunderbird, Yahoo, AOL,...) should use the reply-to email address.

Best regards,

Hi Douglas,

THANK YOU!!!

This works great. I didn't know that the reply to would still be the persons email address. That's fabulous and solves the problem by leaving that setting to "Use Global."

Tested perfect!!

THANK YOU SOO MUCH! YOU ARE THE BEST!
