Support Forum

Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

× Frequently Asked Questions using Joomla content articles. iFAQ (former MooFAQ) is a FAQ Component for Joomla!™ which uses jQuery and Bootstrap to load Joomla Articles in Accordion format.

Link to specific article and open it

I've seen your article about this on the documentation page and can see it is working for your site - eg this link opens up the relevant FAQ article:
http://idealextensions.com/joomla-extensions/component-moofaq/documentation.html#article-id-121

But it doesn't seem to be working for my site.

article-id-30 is the last article on my FAQ page, with the title "How should I choose a target search phrase?"

But if I use the following link, it moves the page so the last article is visible but doesn't open the article.

http://singlepage.co.uk/help/faqs#article-id-30

I'm using:
- MooFAQ 3.2.1
- Joomla! 3.2.1

I'd be grateful for any help.

Dear mmelling,

Go to the Components -> MooFAQ -> Options and set the Slider to Custom and Auto Scroll to Yes;

Have a great weekend! ;-)

Douglas - thanks for the speedy response!

I've amended that on my site and it does work.

But I don't really like the auto-scrolling behaviour for all users every time a FAQ article title is clicked.

Is this the only way to link to specific articles and open them?

Thanks.

Dear mmelling,

Right now that's the only option.

I've started to work on a new version, however I do not have an Estimated Time of Completion just yet.

Best regards,

Hi, perhaps you could add this setting to the documentation on this page idealextensions.com/joomla-ext...nent-moofaq/documentation.html "How To Link To A Specific FAQ Item?" it would have saved me quite a lot of time.

Also, your example on that FAQ page only shows an example for categories, not for when the menu item is for a single category. I figured this one out, but it would be even more helpful if you could show both options, so we don't use option=com_moofaq&view=categories&id=16#article-id-9999 when it should be category as this causes no results to be found.

Thanks, Nicola

Dear Nicola,

I have added both examples now!

I'll clear the cache so it will be visible to you in a few minutes.

All the best,
