Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

× Contact Enhanced is a contact component manager created to replace Joomla! core contacts component and add lots of advantages and new features (see Features ) and it offers many plugins and modules for several different purposes,

Dear muddauber,

You usually see "Anonymous user" is you do not add the Name Custom Field TYPE or Email Custom Field Type.

You can block IP Addresses. Go to Components -> Contact Enhanced, click on the Options button in the Toolbar and under the Contact Form tab Enter the IP addresses separated by ; in the "Banned IP address" field.

Thanks, I added the blocked IP address.

Regarding the Anonymous User, I DO have the NAME Custom Field
and apparently they are using "Anonymous User" as their name entry
field info.

Is there a way to block of range of IP addresses?
Maybe all the IP addresses from Romania and China, or
a wide range. I remember when we used to do something like
that when we played with .htaccess years ago.

The spamming IP address is still getting through

Dear muddauber,

I was looking at the source code and yes, it is possible.

Just enter the part of domain you want to filter:
Example Domain: 123.231.123.213
Filter for range: 123.231.123.
OR for a greater range: 123.231. however this last one is not recommended because it will also match this fomain: 222.123.231.222

Can we deny range blocks? e.g.,
178.154.128.0/17

and TLD's? e.g.,
.ru

Dear blue_Shift,

Currently, there's no option to block Ip Blocks as requested, however you can block TLDs
Go to Components » Contact Enhanced » Options and under the Security Tab just add the TLDs, including the dot and preceeded by an *, to the Banned Emails field. e.g.,
*.ru
