Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

× Contact Enhanced is a contact component manager created to replace Joomla! core contacts component and add lots of advantages and new features (see Features ) and it offers many plugins and modules for several different purposes,

Contact Form fields overlap and are not visible

7 years 2 months ago #22969 by eric
I've searched through the forums and read the documentation on the custom CSS form field function, but so far my efforts have not had any effect on this problem.

See the following urls of examples of how the form fields overlap each other, preventing a user from being able to complete the form. Where do I need to add custom css code to fix this?

Thank you for your help in advance!

Dear Eric,

I see your template compresses and joins the CSS files, so I cannot find out which file is adding a #message CSS rule which is conflicting with CE message field.

An easy fix is to edit the Message Form Field and change it's Alias to something else other than message. This will change the field's HTML ID attribute and will no longer conflict with the CSS rule from another extension or template.

Another way to fix is creating a new CSS Form Field Type with the following content:
.ce-cf-container #message{position:initial; }

Best regards,

Thank you Douglas.
Your suggestion about renaming the alias for the message field worked like a charm.
