Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Salesforce Integration

Hello,

My organisation is a Salesforce user and we need an integrated "Store Finder" application running on our Joomla website.

I found your "Ideal Store Locator", and I noticed it also integrates with Salesforce via the "Contact Enhanced" component.

Our business model is such that the Stores (actually service locations) we wish to display on the Locator are held as a Contact Record Type, and the Contact includes address and gelocation together with about 20 custom fields which show the different services available, opening times and similar information. It would be best for us if the Locator could integrate with the Contact Object on a real-time basis so that the data displayed in the Locator is always accurate. Or, at least, a regular automatic synchronisation. We don't need all our Contacts available in the Locator, only the 60 or so service locations.

I was not able to see from the information provided, how the Contact Enhanced component would work in respect of updating the data that the Locator uses. If anyone can answer this I would be very grateful.

Dear Tim,

Contact Enhanced integration with SalesForce is for the webToLead feature only.

Display SalesForce contacts in iStoreLocator would probably be very slow, because we would have to retrieve the information via API, then do the nearest location math via PHP. Right now iStoreLocator retrieves the nearest locations from the database and there's no need to do any further math and it is all done in the same server, so it is very fast.
