Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Contact Form Spam Issue

I created a new form on the Contact page of my client's Joomla 2.5 site using Contact Enhanced and then she complained that she was receiving many spam enquiries through this form. I then installed and enabled the SecurImage plugin and in the CE options, set "Show Security question (Captcha)" to "Always" and the "Captcha Plugin (for Joomla!2.5+)" option to "Captcha-SecurImage." This has not helped. She still receives many many spam enquiries. What can we do to stop all these spam messages from coming in through her CE form? Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Dear Mortk1,

We know spambots are getting smarter every day, however SecurImage should still block most if not all automated spambots (manual human spam form submission will still get through).

Are you sure the spam is coming through Contact Enhanced Form and not another form, like Joomla core contact?

PS: Even though we try to help our Joomla 2.5 users, we officially no longer provide support for CE for Joomla 2.5.

Hello Douglas,

I spoke to my client again and she has changed her story!
First she told me that she was receiving many spam messages and now she tells me that it is only a few.
So SecurImage is apparently doing a good job of blocking spam.
