Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Hi,

I receive the following message when completing my enquiry form:

'The mail() function has been disabled and the mail can't be sent'.

The settings are the same as on other websites I've built and the mail function has not been disabled on the server. Can you offer any advise?

Dear Greenleaf123,

Contact Enhanced uses Joomla Framework as much as possible in order to avoid any sort of problem, including for mailer related issues. Therefore, that message comes from Joomla Framework.

I'm not sure why you are getting this message. The mail() function can be disabled on a per server account bases or on the entire server, depending on the configuration, you can contact your web server support for more information.

Either way, we always recommend using SMTP, please read this article below, item #5:
