Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

display all the contacts in the selected category, plus all the contacts in all

4 years 10 months ago #25028 by charleyhankins
Using "List Contacts in a Category" as my menu item, I would like to display all the contacts in the selected category, plus all the contacts in all of the subcategories. How do I accomplish this? Am I using the wrong menu selection?

Thanks,
Charley

Dear Charley,

This menu item type will display the contacts in the current category only, however you can display the sub-category links as well.

I see your subscription has expired. I'd appreciate if you renew your subscription to help maintain Contact Enhanced active development.

Best regards,

There's no view specifically designed to display all contacts from all categories, however you can easily accomplish that using the Contact Enhanced -> Search Results menu item type.

Under the Search options tab you can choose to display only some categories, only results with a specific search term or you can leave the Search field empty to display all contacts.

Thanks in advance for renewing your subscription.

I have toggled "featured" on all contacts, then used the "Featured Contacts" as the menu selection. So, that works now.

However, I am having an issue with the ordering. I have Alphabetized selected. It alphabetizes about half of them. then on page 5 alphabetizes the other half. It doesn't seem to matter what category they are in.

Any thoughts?

That is, it appears as though they are coming up in the order I placed them in, and "order" does not seem to have any effect.

Dear CH,

If you want to display your contacts in Alphabetical order, please go to Components -> Contact Enhanced, click on the Options button and under the List tab set the Ordering option to "Title (Name) Alphabetically" .
