Support Forum

Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

Securimage not showing

8 years 2 months ago #20893 by ianpanorton
Hi - I can't get the image for securimage to show.
The plugin is installed and enabled.
I have selected securimage in global config.
I have elected securimage and show always in the module settings.
I have turned error reporting to maximum, but no relevant errors are displaying.
I have logged out of admin, and refreshed the page, but the image still doesn't show.
The url is www.financingfirst.co.uk/joomla3/ajax-contact .
Any idea where I'm going wrong?
Thanks
Ian

Sorry - it's Joomla 3.4.8
The module I installed is mod_site_ajaxcontact_3.4.5__20150702_1113.zip
And securimage is plg_captcha_securimage_3.4.3__20150702_1503.zip
Thanks
Ian

Dear Ian,

It seems your SecurImage Captcha plugin is corrupt. I cannot access the file below:
www.financingfirst.co.uk/jooml...aptcha/securimage/lib/show.php

Can you please make sure this file is in your server?

Best regards,

Hi Douglas - many thanks for the quick reply.
Not sure how to do this - should I install the securimage plugin again?
Thanks
Ian

Dear Ian,

You can try to install it again (there's no need to uninstall it) OR you can unzip the captcha plugin zip file and upload the contents of the /site/ folder to /plugins/captcha/securimage/ via FTP.

Also, please make sure the file /plugins/captcha/securimage/lib/show.php is writable .

Hi Douglas - I will do that, but meanwhile I've attached a screenshot of directory tree showing the securimage contents.
The permissions are all 755.
Can you see anything wrong here?
Thanks
Ian

Dear Ian,

I'm not sure why it isn't working properly.

The screenshot you've attached doesn't display the contents of the /plugins/captcha/securimage/lib/ directory. Does the show.php file has the proper permission?

Do you have any Firewall extension that denies direct file access?

Best regards,

Hi Douglas

show.php was set to 644 - I've changed it to 755.
I have admin tools installed on the live site www.financingfirst.co.uk , but not on this developing site /joomla3.
I've attached a screenshot of the /lib directory.
Thanks
Ian

Dear Ian,

I'm having a hard time to understand why it is not working. It should display the image like in the link below:
idealextensions.com/plugins/captcha/securimage/lib/show.php

Can you please try to install on your live server (for testing purposes)?

Since you are using AdminTools on your live server, go to Components -> AdminTools, click on the .htaccess Maker and add the following lines to the "Allow direct access to these files" field:
plugins/captcha/securimage/lib/show.php
plugins/captcha/securimage/lib/verify_json.php
plugins/captcha/securimage/lib/play.php

If it still doesn't work, than can you please ask your web hosting provider to understand why you are getting a 404 Not Found error message when you try to access this file directly (like in the example above)?

Best wishes,

Hi Douglas - sorry for the slow reply.
I added the three lines of code to Admin Tools, and the link to the graphic now works, although it is still not showing on the test page.
Ajax contact is already running on the live site, but it is the J2.5 version.
I did originally install Admin Tools on the replacement site, but removed it as it was causing a few problems during development.
Could this be causing an issue?
I have raised the issue with my hosts.
Thanks
Ian
