Support Forum

Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

iFAQ Templates

9 years 5 months ago #18205 by d.motley
Since I'm trying to move from MooFAQs but with the limited template options I need to update the graphics because blue doesn't match everything. Don't see the graphics, where they link to. I've overridden the css for the most part, not looking quite the way I want but changing out the "plus" sign would help a great deal.

So my question is are there unique directions for customizing a template and any guidance appreciated.
Thank you,
Darlene

Dear Darlene,

I suspect you are referring to the basic template.

It should not be too hard to customize a template, actually I don't advise to customize a template, but you should rather create a new one by duplicating an existing one. This way when you upgrade iFAQ in the future your changes will not be overridden.

Copy:
/components/com_ifaq/templates/basic/
to:
/components/com_ifaq/templates/basic_2/

The Plus and Minus images are encoded and added to the CSS file. If you want to remove the image you can open the CSS file inside the template folder and remove the code below:
url(data:image/png;base64,[LONG_STRING_HERE])

Best regards,
