Support Forum

Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

MooFAQ plugin

9 years 1 month ago #18844 by StevenLe
Hello Support,

I include a moofaq plugin inside an article and it works just fine, as shown below
{moofaq view=|category| id=|100| showtitle=|0| showdesc=|0| }

However the show-category is displayed and I'd like to know which parameter to use for disabling it.

Please see attached.

Dear StevenLe,

If you are still using MooFAQ, you can go to Components -> MooFAQ -> Options and under the Article tab set "Show Category" to Hide.

In IFAQ I've removed that setting entirely because it doesn't make sense to display the category in each article because all articles in the iFAQ page belong to the same category.

Best regards,

Douglas,

I embedded a moofaq list in an article, using following string
{moofaq view=|category| id=|100| showtitle=|0| showdesc=|0| }

and it works fine. However, I'd like to take the leading number off as highlighted in the attached image.

Please show me how by manipulating the string. I used MooFAQ for several places and want to avoid making this change globally if I can.

Thanks,
-Steven

Yes. That works! THX

Is there are way to enable that for us the embedded article and not globally? I was hoping that I can enable a parameter in the 'string'.

Dear Steven,

I can implement this in iFAQ (included in the latest package), because I'm not longer creating new feature for the old MooFAQ. I still include it in the zip package because some old users might still want to update it instead of switching to iFAQ.

Douglas,
How compatible is iFAQ to MooFAQ if I would to upgrade? Do you have any document discussing the upgrade, explaining the benefits?

Thanks,
-Steven

Dear Steven,

iFAQ uses jQuery instead of MooTools. jQuery is already loaded by Joomla in Joomla 3.x, so iFAQ loads less code when compared with MooFAQ. Also MooFAQ will no longer be updated.

iFAQ migration is very easy. You basically just have to install iFAQ and change the menu items. If you are using MooFAQ Content Plugin you also must change the syntax from {moofaq to {ifaq.
