I don't know this plugin, but it might be made to work with com_content only.

MooFAQ does not work with additional groups in JACL was created by mentor1000

I have posted a question here and then figured out the answer, but I can't delete the message. So I'm posting my solution (if someone comes across this, it will help them).

I had a set of FAQ for a group I created with JACL plugin. When I tried to assign menu to those FAQ, the page would come up blank.

It looks like you can only restrict access with MooFAQ to the original Joomla groups - registered and special.
