Errors from other extensions once I install/enable MooFAQ

13 years 4 months ago #8393 by douglas
Dear wbailey1964,

The language problem is already fixed in the source code and will be fixed in the next version, I'll try to create this new version before the weekend.

I just sent a file to you. Please upload and the warning messages will go away. Also, don't worry it did not break anything.

I'm sorry about that.

Best wishes,

I just bought and installed MooFAQ on Joomla 1.7. The install package is called:

pkg_moofaq_1.7__20110829_1502___build_02

I installed it and immediately went to the menu as suggested in the FAQ's and the forum to enable the plugins. First, something doesn't seem right because rather than seeing 'Enable Plugins' I see what appears to be a constant name from the code:

COM_MOOFAQ_CONFIG_ARTICLE_ENABLE_PLUGINS_LABEL

Not pretty, but I could probably live with that. However, I also went onto create a category called FAQ with 3 subcategories and a Categories menu item called FAQ (with top level category FAQ) and 3 Category menu items (1 each for the other 3 subcategories).

Everything seemed OK, but of course all I see is the category name and description and a 'No results found' message in the content area. So I added my first article to one of the subcategories. Now I see warnings in the content area above the actual FAQ question from two of my other extensions (AcePolls and obRSS). The errors are:

Warning: Missing argument 4 for plgContentAcepolls::onContentPrepare() in /home/unclebe1/public_html/plugins/content/acepolls/acepolls.php on line 17

Warning: Missing argument 4 for plgContentLoad_obrss::onContentPrepare() in /home/unclebe1/public_html/plugins/content/load_obrss/load_obrss.php on line 22

Both of these extensions were working fine before I installed MooFAQ and they never appear on any other content page except the FAQ pages. They are warnings and do not actually seem to prevent the other two extensions from working, but 1) the output is to the screen which I can't live with and 2) it makes me nervous that maybe it has broken them but I just haven't discovered how yet.

Any ideas why this is happening?
