Re: Uninstalling not possible

That error message is usually because the 1.5 version was installed in a Joomla 1.6+ version.
In order to take full advantage of the new framework, MooFAQ was mostly re-written for Joomla 1.6, so you need to install the correct package;
If you cannot uninstall via Joomla Extension Manager, there is probably a permission issue; Depending on the usergroup added by Joomla (at the installation time) to those files you might not be able to change permission via FTP. I've seen that many times to all sort of extensions. In this case you might need to log as root via SSH and chmod the [path to Joomla]/components/com_moofaq/ and [path to Joomla]/administrator/components/com_moofaq/.
If you do not have SSH access, please ask your web hosting service provider to do that for you.
Then try to install the correct package for Joomla 1.6.
If you still cannot fix this, please make a FULL backup and provide administrator access to your Joomla installation.
All the best.

Everything was okay till this morning trying to use the category view options in admin and I got the following error: "
Fatal error: Call to undefined method JXMLElement::getElementByPath() in /home/pboadmin/domains/bwmtest.nl/public_html/pbonieuw2011/administrator/components/com_moofaq/install.package.php on line 29"
Tried uninstalling and everything has just gone wrong and i've put the site off temp.
How can i remove it and install again cos ftp failed as well?
Kind regards,
