Ajax Contact Documentation

Ajax Contact is a Joomla! module that facilitates quick communication between website visitors and administrators via email. It integrates seamlessly with Joomla! CMS to provide a user-friendly contact form.

1 - Installation

1. Go to the Joomla! backend administration menu.

2. Navigate to System and then Install Panel.

3. Upload the plugin package and install it.

4. After installation, access System →Manage Panel → Site Modules

5. Locate and enable Ajax Contact.

6. Customize settings as needed.

Recipient: Enter recipient emails separated by commas. Leave blank to use the Joomla Administrator email.

Blind Copy: Add BCC recipients.

Sender Email: Specify the sender's email address.

Subject: Default subject template: %s sent a message via %s.

Greeting: Default greeting message, e.g., "Hello!".

Pretext: Text shown before the form.

Show User Info: Display user information to the recipient (Administrator) or not

Reset Form on Submit: Option to clear the form after submission.

Email Copy: Send a copy of the email to the user.

4 - Show Options

Show Security Question (Captcha): Enable captcha to prevent automated submissions.

Captcha Plugin: Utilize the captcha plugin, SecurImage is recommended

Auto Populate User Info: Automatically fill in name and email if the user is logged in.

Show Privacy: Ensure GDPR compliance with a privacy checkbox.

Privacy Checkbox Label: Customize the privacy checkbox label.

Redirection After Submit: Set a custom URL for redirection after form submission.

5 - Advanced Tab

Override Thank You Message: Customize the thank you message displayed after form submission. If left blank, the default message from [Path to Joomla]/modules/mod_ajaxcontact/language/en-GB/en-GB.mod_ajaxcontact.ini will be used.

Copy Message: Customize the message sent to users who opt to receive a copy of their submission.

HTML Email: Enable sending HTML emails. Use the following placeholders for dynamic content:

{custom_fields}: Custom Fields

{prefix}: The Prefix above

{signature}: The signature set above

{name}: The user's name

{text_message}: The message the user has typed in the Text Message box (if enabled)

Attachments: Attach files from modules/mod_ajaxcontact/files.

6 - Custom Fields Tab

Create as many custom fields as needed. Available fields include:

One per Form:

Name
Last name
Email
Subject
Carbon copy
