Upgrade procedure:

Please remember that there is no need to uninstall the old version and that backup is your best friend! ;-)
The update procedure is very easy and safe, but accidents do happen, therefore you are advised to make a full backup first;

Support Scenario!

After 3 years of heavy coding, Joomla 1.6 was a major upgrade released in January 2011 and 6 months later Joomla! announced Joomla 1.7 Alpha release and there has been a lot of confusion regarding Joomla versions and users might be wondering whether they should upgrade from Joomla! 1.5. This is how the development plan for coming Joomla core versions look like and how iDealExtensions Support Scenario will also look like for the current and next versions. Contact Enhanced for Joomla! 1.6 is stable and in version 1.6.1. A lot of new features were added since the last newsletter (April 2011).

Some of the New features:

  • + Implement a HoneyPot spam fight feature (beta);
  • + Recipient Custom Field now allows chain select and to display recipients in checkbox style;
  • + Added Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn fields for Contacts;
  • + Contact Enhanced plugins are automatically enabled upon installation;
  • + Added option for the Date custom field in order to allow to change the date format;
  • + Added Search module and search display page (1.6.1 Full version only);
