You can still use MoOFAQ without a Component Menu item, because most configurations can be changed in the MooFAQ menu item, so this is not a huge problem right now.
I'm curious if this problems only happens when Joomla is installed in a Windows server. Do you have a Linux Server where you can test this package? I have to be able to reproduce the problem in order to fix this and my development machine and server runs Linux OS.

I use Win7 - for the moment I work with XAMPP local. (to test my site)
Yes - I have installed "com_moofaq_1.7.3__20111124_1331.zip"
I think it's the right one

All other components (moduls plugins etc) I could install without any problem.
Thanks Steffi

Keep in mind that there are two versions of MooFAq, one for Joomla 1.5 and another for Joomla 1.7. Did you install the correct one?
PS: just out of curiosity, which Operating System are you using (Linux OR Windows)?

JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find Joomla XML setup file

Installing component was successful.

Thanks advance for any help.
Have a nice day
