Support Forum

Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

× Contact Enhanced is a contact component manager created to replace Joomla! core contacts component and add lots of advantages and new features (see Features ) and it offers many plugins and modules for several different purposes,

Multiple File Upload

6 years 7 months ago #23582 by trlbldr
Subscribers reported receiving 404 errors when they attempted to upload files (permissible MIME types). I went, checked, and confirmed the problem. We have successfully uploaded files in the past, but I cannot say how long we've had this problem. (Few subscribers use the function.)

The URL changed with the 404 error message:
0 Argument1 passed to ceFileHelper::reArrayFiles() must be of the type array, null given, call in /home2/usnaor/public_html/components/com_contactenhanced/formfields/multiplefiles/multiplefiles.php on line 100

Site particulars:
usncva.org/
CE version: 3.7.2
emailer: SMTP

Dear Dom,

I reproduced the issue on your site, however I could not reproduce the issue locally. I've tried with and without the Ajax feature and it worked locally.

Did you install any firewall Joomla extension that might be blocking file uploads or form submissions?
Does it work if you disable the File upload field.

Kind regards,

Douglas,
If we consider Akeeba AdminTools and its Web Application Firewall (WAF) a firewall, yes and no. No, because I haven't recently installed it but yes, because I've had it active on this (and all other Websites I build and manage) for years. No configuration setting I've made or of which I'm aware will block file uploads or form submissions. Indeed, these work on the other sites.
I am at a loss.
By the way, this (and all other sites I manage) use Joomla 3.8.
Cheers.

Dear Don,

I have tested locally with Joomla 3.8 and I could not reproduce this issue.

Can you please create a full backup and provide FTP access to /components/com_contactenhanced/ ? You can send the log in details using the Support -> Contact Form, or just reply to the new post notification email.

Best regards,

Douglas,

I hope you'll pardon me for saying, no, thanks. Either this extension works or it doesn't. It worked for quite awhile and now it doesn't. No file uploads possible. If it needs a customized solution, that goes away with the next update.

Thanks, anyway.

Dear Don,

On my local environment I have Joomla 3.8 and Contact Enhanced and I couldn't reproduce the issue.

I've asked for FTP access, in order to try to find the problem and provide a permanent fix, which will be carried out to all new CE versions.

I'm happy to fix the issue, however so far you are the only one having this problem, so I need access to the server in order to perform some tests and fix it.

I hope you understand.

All the best,

Douglas, the problem is that the Board of our association will not permit anyone access to the admin backend or the server. That's the bottom line. You don't have a suggestion, especially from the detailed error message returned?

0 Argument1 passed to ceFileHelper::reArrayFiles() must be of the type array, null given, call in /home2/usnaor/public_html/components/com_contactenhanced/formfields/multiplefiles/multiplefiles.php on line 100

Cheers.

Dear Don,

I understand the decision from your board of directors, however I hope you understand in some situations it is more complicated to debug when I don't have access to the server and I'll probably need you to run some tests.

I've created a series of pre-checks now to the uploaded file and I'll send the new file to your email with more instructions.

I also want to emphasize that all file changes I'll send to you will be in the next CE version, so you won't have to worry about upgrading a customized version in the future.

Best wishes,
