Support Forum

Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

× Contact Enhanced is a contact component manager created to replace Joomla! core contacts component and add lots of advantages and new features (see Features ) and it offers many plugins and modules for several different purposes,

Greetings,

Does your user have edit permission? Please double check the Permissions tab in the Component Options.
Is the Contact checked-in by another user?

If the problem persists, Can you please upgrade to the latest Contact Enhanced version?

Best regards,

Douglas,
Thank you for considering this issue. I have the latest version of Joomla, Latest Version of CE, and I was editing (attempting) in the back-end with the superuser account. I already reviewed the permissions and if users were checked-in in before posting in the forum. We CAN edit form the front end. Can you take a deeper look into this?

Dear Andy,

Have you created a Contact Enhanced Category first?

I have been using CE for years now, yes I had a category. With the last update it appears to not be working. I have the latest joomla version and the latest CE version. Only thing that may have changed was the PHP version the server is running went from 7 to 7.1. Thanks for continuing to assist. Need to resolve this soon.

Dear Andy,

I cannot reproduce this issue locally,

Can you please create a full backup and provide Super administrator access, so I can take a closer look?
You can send the login credentials using the Support -> Contact Form?

Dear Andy,

The PHP error code (below) is inserted inside the Javascript for the content editor, which is causing this issue.
Deprecated: Methods with the same name as their class will not be constructors in a future version of PHP; plgButtonRokComments has a deprecated constructor in /path/to/joomla/plugins/editors-xtd/rokcomments/rokcomments.php on line 20

I have set the Error Reporting in Joomla Global configuration to None, which fixes this issue. Another possible workaround is to disable the plgButtonRokComments plugin. However, the appropriate course of action is to contact the plgButtonRokComments developer to get it fixed permanently.

PS: Make sure you are using the latest plgButtonRokComments version.

Best regards,

I am having this same issue and I don't have RokComments installed. How did you find that PHP error code? Setting "error reporting" to "none" fixed the issue but I would like to find the PHP error.

Thanks.

Dear Yosh,

In order to find that error code I have viewed the source code and searched for the words "on line".
