Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

I have to update from version 1.5.2_090422_2141 and I was wondering how to do so???
As you can't overwrite, yo have to uninstall but then you loose your configuration and contacts already filled in!
As I can't find any information and procedure on how to do it properly, I have to ask here...

I guess I have to do it with FTP overwriting files in admin and in front-end...
And what about the SQL... Anything to do???

Dear Ludo,

Please backup Contact Enhanced's database tables (data only) bellow and uninstall, install the version attached and then imported the database (data only) that you'ved backed up.
jos_contact_enhanced_cf
jos_contact_enhanced_cv
jos_contact_enhanced_details

Yes, I do plan to release an easier update script. As a matter of fact I have already done a update script from 1.5.4 to the current version, however since 1.5.2 has has been a lot of changes in the database which makes it a bit more complicated;

Hopefully by the end of next month I have a more "elegant" update method.

Hi,

I'm back cz I saw the new option to update your component ;)
And I tried to update directly from 1.5.2 to 1.5.7.1 but obviously it's not workin!

So do I still have to apply the procedure you told me before???
I haven't tried yet but I'd rather know before ;)

1/Back up tables :
jos_contact_enhanced_cf
jos_contact_enhanced_cv
jos_contact_enhanced_details
2/uninstall CE
3/reinstall CE
4/reimport saved DB

Dear Ludo,

I forgot to create an automatic update from 1.5.2. I'll start working on it this afternoon.
I was not going to release a new version right now however I had to make a few changes to the Plugin that required changes in Contact Enhanced as well.

Please download the package again and install it! It should update the database automatically. I've tested updating from1.5.2 and it worked correctly;
