Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

CE Pro Recorded Messages Errata

I am experiencing several problems regarding CE Pro Recorded Messages:

1. In the Admin backend, the list of Recorded Messages does not show the sender email address:


2. When I process the messages in the Recorded Messages list, regardless of disposition, the System Dashboard | Global Check-in shows that I have to re-check-in the ce-messages table:


3. When I click "Reply" to an email I receive from the website addressed to me (dwhite@mydomain), the reply shows that it if from "Me" but uses the SMTP address for the bloody Joomla configuration, not my personal email address. Further, the Reply To doesn't show the sender's address as the "TO" addressee, but includes that in a field labelled "Reply To". That doesn't ensure transmission to the sender at all. (I use Mozilla Thunderbird; not many of our officers use MS Mail or MS Outlook.)

Contact Enhanced Pro worked like a charm with Joomla 2.5 and 3.x. It's becoming a real pain with Joomla 4.2.2.

1. I couldn't reproduce this error locally. I'll send you a new package in a few minutes with some changes. Please submit the form again after the update and let me know what happens. If the problem persists, will you be able to provide PHPMyAdmin access, so I can investigate this issue or at least export the #__ce_messages table and send it to my email address? You don't need to export the message and message_html fields.

2. The check-in when you click on the Cancel or on the Close button is performed by the Joomla framework. However, it was adding 0 instead of NULL in the checkout field, which should be fine, but the check-in component is reading 0 as checked-out instead of checked-in. Anyway, I've fixed that by making sure Joomla will set the checked-out field to NULL.

3. Contact Enhanced will send the email from the Joomla Configuration email, but the reply-to (when the user clicks on the reply button) will be set to your email address. This is by design to prevent your email from being flagged as spam by the recipient mail server. Most mail servers nowadays will flag the email as spam if the sender's email address is different from the SMTP email address used to send the message.
