Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

× Contact Enhanced is a contact component manager created to replace Joomla! core contacts component and add lots of advantages and new features (see Features ) and it offers many plugins and modules for several different purposes,

Empty solution not allowed. Field Captcha is required. Using invisible recaptcha

1 year 7 months ago #26536 by bcraigie
Hi Douglas,

I too previously had the missing columns and had to execute the SQL you supplied in another thread and now I can see recorded messages again. Just letting you know the upgrade script doesn't seem to have worked on this occasion from J3.x to J4.x

I get a new problem now. When I submit a contact form, I am getting this error:

Empty solution not allowed.
Field Captcha is required.

I am using Invisible Recaptcha, and the icon shows at the bottom-right of the contact page, so it should be working.

Contact Enhanced is configured to use Invisible Recaptcha in the options (default captcha - the only captcha solution installed, and it is the default in Global Configuration, and the plugin is enabled.

If I submit the form again (all the fields remain populated) it accepts the form and says Thank you for your email.

Any ideas what's wrong?

Thanks

Brian

Dear Brian,

I have just updated the updated script to fix the previous error.

Is there any javascript error on the page that might be causing the reCaptcha issue?

Can you test it with SecurImage Captcha plugin (included in the package)?

Best regards,

Thanks. I disabled Invisible Captcha and enabled Securimage. The Securimage shows and I was able to type into the captcha box.

When I submitted the form, I now get this error:

Error Table::store() for #__ce_messages Field 'catid' doesn't have a default value

The form did not get recorded. I'm not sure if the email was sent as it is going to my customer. I'll change it to me and test again.

I didn't see any javascript errors using either Invisible Recaptcha or Securimage.

In order to effect a quick solution, I uninstalled Contact Enhanced completely and reinstalled it. Of course this lost all the saved messages, but it is now working correctly.

I think something went wrong in the upgrade.

I notice that other packages have a presence in the Extensions -> Manage -> Database section and extensions there can have their database structure repaired. Perhaps this is something you could create for CE to allow a database repair.

Warmest regards,

Brian

Dear Brian,

I'm sorry you lost the saved messages. This was something we could fix via PHPMyAdmin. Anyway, if you have a backup and I help you to restore the contents of the messages database table.

Best regards
