Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

Error When displaying form

Joomla Version: 4.2.3
PHP Version 8.1.1
Contact Enhanced Version: 4.3.5

Deprecated: mb_strpos(): Passing null to parameter #1 ($haystack) of type string is deprecated in E:\Johnw10\documents\Websites\2022\joomla4\tutorial\public_html_ex1\libraries\vendor\joomla\string\src\phputf8\mbstring\core.php on line 41

I am testing a new site on my PC with WAMP server. When I load the contact form I get the above error. If I downgrade to PHP 7.4 the error goes away. Is there a fix for this

Greetings,

That file is part of a Joomla core, so it's harder to debug.

Can you please enable System debug in Joomla's Global Configuration and let me know the call stack?

The call stack will display all function calls..

Thank you for the call stacks.

I've been trying to reproduce the Deprecated Notice (technically it's not an error) locally, but without any success.
The only Contact Enhanced file that appears on the first call stack is components\com_contactenhanced\layouts\form\field\text.php, but on line 124 there's no function call on my file.

Anyway, I've created a new package with some changes to the file and I'll send it to you in a couple of minutes. Please install it and let me know if the Deprecated notice goes away.

That seemed to do the trick thank you. I did hit another snag.
My php upload size is 64M but in CE I allow 10M but when I do a test although the CE prompt on the upload says 10M I get the error file exceeds php.ini setting. But the system info says 64M for file upload size and POST size.

I'm glad this is solved. The next release will contain this fix.

As for the other issue, can you create a new topic? Just to keep things organized. ;-)
Are you using the Multiple Files upload field with Ajax enabled in the Form Field Parameters?
Also, please provide more details including the exact error message you see. A screenshot might help us to understand where you are getting this error.
