Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

Emails not sent after Joomla 4 upgrade (4.3.4) and new install 4.3.18

Hi,
I have just migrated from Joomal 3.10.12 to Joomla 4.3.4. I downloaded and installed CE Pro 4.3.18 and made no changes to either Joomla system settings or CE.

Now emails are just recorded but not sent.

Help much appreciated.

Thank you for contacting us today.

Is there any error message when you submit the message? Are you using the Ajax or regular Method to send the form?

Please save the component options again as some options might have changed. We rewrote the component completely for Joomla 4.

Can you provide a direct link to your form?

I am not using Ajax ( using global options and not set).
I saved the settings on the content tab and now notice I get a message saying an error occurred and the email was not sent. the link to the form is www.ryokangojyuan.com/contact-gojyuan

That generic error message is usually thrown when the mailer API has a problem sending the message, for instance, when the mail server refuses to send the message. This usually occurs when you are not using SMTP in Joomla Global Configurations and the "Email Sender" setting is set to Contact instead of Using Global. Please edit the Component Options and, under the Form tab, set "Email Sender" to Use Global.

If the problem persists, can you please create a backup and provide administrator access, so I can take a closer look?
You can use the Support > Contact Form to send the login information.

Thank you for providing the login information. I have thoroughly investigated the issue you reported and have identified the root cause. The problem lies with the "Contact Enhanced - Custom Code" Plugin. It appears that the "OnAfterSend" script, specifically the "submit-a-notification-email-using-phpmail.php" script, is not compatible with Joomla 4.

To resolve the issue, I have taken the necessary steps and disabled the plugin. As a result, the form is now working as expected.
