Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

Search in the "telephone" and "mobile" fields

Hello, a customer asked to make the search work with the "telephone" and "mobile" fields. I tried simply adding them to the config.xml file in:

/[...]/administrator/components/com_contactenhanced

Like this:

[...]
<fieldset name="search" label="COM_CONTACTENHANCED_FIELD_CONFIG_SEARCH_OPTIONS">
[...]
<option value="telephone">Telephone</option>
<option value="mobile">Cellphone</option>

This modifies the SQL query to what we wanted:

(a.name LIKE '%3421950558%' OR a.email_to LIKE '%3421950558%' OR a.telephone LIKE '%3421950558%' OR a.mobile LIKE '%3421950558%')

It's correct and everything seems to work fine. If it's indeed as easy as it looks, could you make this addition so I don't have to patch every new version?

Dear wpalagi,

I have never had this request before. Anyway, I've added this option and the option to search by Meta Keywords and Meta Description as well. Now all contact fields will be searchable.

This feature will be included in the next version for Joomla 4 and 5.
