Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

How do I remove the default contact fields?

I want to delete these default fields and put in my own, in my specified order:

Enter your Name *:
E-mail address *:
Message Subject *:

I can't seem to find out how to do it through joomla, so I guess I have to edit some code somewhere?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Dear Benech,

Unfortunately, the fields Name, Email, Subject and Message are standard and cannot be removed/rearranged through our Custom Field Manager. For the next version I'm going to make them also as custom fields.

For now you can edit the tmpl file:
[joomla1.5]/components/com_contact_enhanced/views/contact/tmpl/default_form.php

Which order do you need them?

Hi,

I would like to find out how to re-arrange the default contact fields in Joomla, so that they can be put in the order I want them to:
Name
Company (if applicable)
Telephone
Email address
Subject
Message

Could you please let me know?

I don't have any knowledge of code (that's why I bought your application), so please guide me step by step.

Please unpack and upload the file attached to:
[joomla]/components/com_contact_enhanced/views/contact/tmpl/

EDIT: removed old file.

I've added a modified version of [joomla]/components/com_contact_enhanced/views/contact/tmpl/default_form.php, so just unzip and upload the file attached.

I'll probably start working on a new version next, however I don't exactly how long it is going to take in order to complete this upgrade.

The attachment does not fix this problem for me. I get this error:

Dear Candiss,

Those files were too old and this feature is already built-in Contact Enhanced. All fields are now custom fields, even Name, email, subject and message.

You can go to Components -> Contact Enhanced -> Custom Fields and remove or edit those fields right there.
The form should have at least an Email Custom Field, although the Name custom field is recommended.
