Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function checkdnsrr() in \wellness\components\com_contactenhanced\helpers\helper.php on line 972

Test Page where error occurs:

Fatal Error Received:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function checkdnsrr() in D:\Hosting\2652060\html\wellness\components\com_contactenhanced\helpers\helper.php on line 972

Does not process emails and gets the error on a white page.

I have:

PHP Built On Windows NT P3NW8SH180 6.0 build 6002
Database Version 5.0.91-log
Database Collation utf8_general_ci
PHP Version 5.2.5
Web Server Microsoft-IIS/7.0
WebServer to PHP Interface cgi-fcgi
Joomla! Version Joomla! 1.6.1 Stable [ Onward ] 07-Mar-2011 23:00 GMT

Dear metrobostonweb,

It seems that this checkdnsrr PHP core function is only available for Windows with PHP 5.3.0+, or with a PEAR package.

If you want to disable this feature I can give you instructions to remove it from the source code, but it is a great feature to avoid your users from typing a wrong email address.

Dear Shari,

Please open:
[Path to Joomla]/components/com_contactenhanced/helpers/helper.php
Remove these lines:
if ($isValid && !(checkdnsrr($domain,"MX") || checkdnsrr($domain,"A")))
{
	// domain not found in DNS
	$isValid = false;
}
