Support Forum

Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

Google Map doesn't show the correct location (J 1.6)

13 years 3 days ago - 13 years 3 days ago #6243 by corkcork
Hi, please help.

I have installed the component and enabled the plugins. I entered my address in the Contacts section, but the Google map on the form doesn't show the correct address. It shows an address in a neighboring city. I tried entering another address and the map still goes to the same location.

How do I fix this?

Dear Corkcork,

Contact Enhanced get's the IP based location when the coordinates are not configured correctly.
Did you watch the GMaps screencast?

Hmmm....I moved the map to the right sidebar and it displays the address correctly now. Not sure what happened.

I have another question. How do I change the width of the form fields?

Dear Corkcork,

I believe you haven't pressed the "Locate in Map" button.

You can either add style="width:99%" in the Attributes field or open the CSS file and add:
.ce-cf-container .inputbox{width:99%}
CSS file:
[path to Joomla 1.5]/components/com_contact_enhanced/assets/css/validate.css
[path to Joomla 1.6]/components/com_contact_enhanced/assets/css/ce.css

All the best,

Sorry, one more question. How do I add a Captcha to the form?

Dear Corkcork,

It should be installed automatically.
You just have to enable the Captcha Plugin. Go to Extensions -> Plugin manager and search for captcha and enable it.

Thank you, done. But the title of the field on the form is: ICAPTCHA_VERIFICATION_CODE:

How do I change that?

Dear Corkcork,

That's odd. The language file should have been saved in [Path to Joomla 1.6]/administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.plg_system_icaptcha.ini
If it is not there, please unpack the installation package in your PC, unpack the icaptcha plugin and upload the language file to the location indicated above.

Best regards,

Douglas,

I have sent a test email from the form on the website and it does not send an email. What am I doing wrong?

Dear cork,

Contact Enhanced uses Joomla framework and configuration to send emails and some Joomla installs will not work correctly with Sendmail or PHP Mailer because some mail servers require that unauthenticated emails must be sent from an email address @your-domain.com, or do not allow unauthenticated emails. It seems to be your case, even though it might have been working before. The mail server might have been upgraded or just the security related rules.

I always recommend to set the mailer to SMTP in the Joomla Global configuration. This will avoid many mail problems, including your contact message be marked as SPAM.
Go to Global Configuration and set these options below accordingly to your server. If you are unsure how to do it, please contact your webhost provider and he will be able to give you these informations.
Mailer: SMTP Server
SMTP Authentication:
SMTP Security:
SMTP Port:
SMTP Username:
SMTP Password:
SMTP Host:

PS: Please create a new topic (thread) when a new problem arises. It is easier to keep things organized. ;-)
