Support Forum

Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

× Contact Enhanced is a contact component manager created to replace Joomla! core contacts component and add lots of advantages and new features (see Features ) and it offers many plugins and modules for several different purposes,

How to translate content in Sidebar or Info (Miscellaneous)

12 years 11 months ago #7078 by appweb
Hi There! I'm using JoomFish to translate my pages to other languages but I can't find a way to translate the SideBar content inside a contact. Is there a way?

Thanks!

Dear Appweb,

It is available in the contentelement available here:
ideal.fok.com.br/joomla-extens...contact-enhanced.html#joomfish

I've also just added the option to translate using language files.

Please open [Path to Joomla]/components/com_contact_enhanced/views/contact/tmpl/default_sidebar.php
Find:
echo $this->contact->sidebar;
and replace with:
echo JText::_($this->contact->sidebar);

In the Sidebar you can add something like CE_MY_CONTACT_SIDEBAR and in the language file you will add the string below to each Contact Enhanced language file:
CE_MY_CONTACT_SIDEBAR=My sidebar content with <strong>HTML</strong>

Best regards,

Dear Jeremy,

Did you implement this?
The Author name in the XML file is set to my name.
I've tried to implement it one or two years ago, however Joom!Fish did not have support support of extra/custom fields at the time.

Best regards,

Yes, it's working on a site of one of my customers (but not yet live).
The copyright is yours because I just cloned the content element for the contacts before editing.

It's pretty simple, you can translate any table if you respect the naming convention : xml file name=table name in addition to the table name in the file.

Dear Jeremy,

I'm glad Joom!Fish added Support for Custom Fields. ;-)

In Joomla 1.6+ Contact Enhanced no longer needs Joom!Fish!

Thanks for sharing,
