Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Redirect on form submit error

Hi
I am running in to an issue with the form where the redirect returns a 404 error.
I have tried setting the thank you message setting to both custom redirect and javascript alert in both the contact settings and the global settings. Regardless of what i pick the form always redirects to the URL it was submitted from with "?msgsent=1" appended to the end which displays a 404.

How do i get the form to go to a custom URL on submit so that i can get rid of this problem?

Dear Barney,

1. Which version are you using?
2. In Joomla 1.5 you should be able to set in the "Thank you page" to Custom Redirect in the Component Parameters (Options), than set the Custom redirect URL right below.
In Joomla 1.6 this is done in a per contact basis, Under the "Contact form" Slider;

If that does not work, I might need to access your back-end in order to understand exactly why this is happening.

Hi Douglas,

The site is running 1.5. I had tried setting it in both the contact settings and the paramaters section of the global configuration page. The "Thank you message" option is set to "custom redirect" and the "custom redirect" option is set to a full URL e.g. " example.com/some_url.html ".

Just to confirm what is happening, the form is embedded on a page (example.com/somepage.html) as a module and when submitted the email is sent however the page that loads is example.com/somepage.html?msgsent=1 which returns a 404 error.

Dear Barney,

Did you set the Plugin parameters to show the "Global" "Thank you page"?

Please provide administrator access to your form, so I can take a look a closer look. You can send the login info to me using the Support -> Contact form.
I'm very careful, but I always ask the users to create a full backup before, just to be on the safe side! ;-)
