Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

× Contact Enhanced is a contact component manager created to replace Joomla! core contacts component and add lots of advantages and new features (see Features ) and it offers many plugins and modules for several different purposes,

Sending emails from specific address

12 years 10 months ago #7103 by bmds
Hi
Sorry if this has been discussed before, but a quick search didn't really turn anything up.
Is it possible to have the emails sent from an address that i specify rather than from the address that the user fills the form in with?

Also, i'm sure that the option is there and i just can't see it, but is there a way to turn off the send a copy to my email checkbox on a form?

Thanks
Barney

Dear Barney,

1. What you can do is enter a default email in the Email Custom Field Type and set to Hidden in the Custom Field Parameters;
Then you add a Text Custom Field and in the Name/label you enter "Email";

2. In Joomla 1.6 click on the Component Options (Parameters) then set:
Send Copy to Submitter to Hide
In Joomla 1.5 you have to do that in a contact bases:
In the Contact edit page under the E-mail Parameters (Contact Form) slider set
Show email copy to "Do not send copy"

All the best,

Hi Douglas

Thanks for the response.

1: The form won't seem to submit now as the default value set in the email field isn't being populated. If i change that field to not be required then the form will submit but the email is sent from anonymous@user.com.

Additionally the name the the email is sent from is still set to the name that the user set when filling out the form. I assumed that i would follow a similar procedure as the email address and create a new text field for the name and hide & add a default value to the proper name field. However it appears that you can't set a default value in the name field.

2: Sorted.

Thanks
Barney

Dear barney,

I've just tested and it worked.

Are you using the latest version?
Did you set to Hide or did you unpublished the custom field?

All the best,

Hi Douglas
I set the email field to published with hide field & hide field's label set to yes. I have set the fields value to test@test.com.

The form is visible on ictprospects.com/cisco-training/ccna-security.html and has the hidden field but with an empty value.

Thanks
Barney
