Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

How to insert line breaks in info (misc) field?

Hello,

I have a general question about Contact Enhanced. I'm using version 1.5.9.5 in Joomla 1.5.23, browser is Firefox 5.0.

I'd like to put a newline above the field "info (miscellaneous)" in my contact form. Yet whenever I type "<br/>" within the info text there, after I hit apply or save the "<br/>" disappears. It appears some other HTML formatting is saved, like bold and links.

Note I have the same problem in the core Joomla contact fields, so this problem isn't unique to Contact Enhanced.

Got any suggestions? I've attached a screenshot of the page.

Dear Carol,

Are you using Joomla default WYSIWYG Editor?
Try to add <p></p> OR <p> </p>.
You can also change it in the CSS file.
Open:
moorepix.com/mojo/components/c...hanced/assets/css/validate.css
Add:
.ce-contact-misc{margin-top:12px}

Hi Douglas,

There's no editor, just an ordinary text box into which I can enter text or (most) HTML tags.

I think all those solutions will work for me. Thanks!

Dear Carol,

Contact Enhanced uses the HTML Editor configured in Joomla for the Miscellaneous field and some other fields.
Which is your default WYSIWYG Editor plugin?

Hi Douglas,

I see. I was logged as admin, which has the WYSIWYG Editor set to "none." That editor erased my <br/> tags.

I then logged in as a user who has the WYSIWYG editor set to JCE (my favorite for editing HTML) and looked at the contact's misc. field: Indeed, the JCE editor was used and I was able to insert my <br/> then.

In other words, it's as you said, for certain fields, Contact Enhanced uses the WYSIWYG editor configured for the user, and the HTML tags allowed in the field depend on the editor, not on Contact Enhanced.
