Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

How to update the module correctly

I want to upgrade from 1.56 to latest release on a production site because I have a problem with mathguard witch is not good in this version.

First : I try to only update manually the file "mathGuard.class.php" but it doesn't worked at all. Site messed up

So i believe I have to upgrade full module .

Q?: as latest ver includes more files and seems different from 1.56,
can I update manually files from "mod_ajax_contact" folder, replace all older files and add new ones (JSON.php, elements folder...) OR do I have to re install full module?
In this case do i keep my forms ok OR do i have to rebuilt everything?

Dear Greg,

The easiest and recommend upgrade method is using Joomla installer; Just proceed like you installed in the first time, Joomla installer will know it is an update and will overwrite all files;
Note: there is no need to uninstall the old version; You will not need to rebuild everything, however you will be require to add at least two more custom fields (Name and Email); All fields are now custom fields to allow teh form to be more flexible;
