Support Forum

Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

Can I force iStore Locator map to a zoom level

8 years 8 months ago - 8 years 8 months ago #20115 by oorzaak
Hi,

I have about 10 categories in my Contact Enhanced data, some of them contain just one contact, others contain more contacts. I created 10 menu items showing all contacts in the corresponding category. On each page I also created a map showing all contacts in the corresponding category, using iStore Locator (as this is the only way I can find to show more than one contact on the same map).

Now it seems that the zoom level of the iStore Locator map is set automatically, depending on the locations of the contacts. If there is only one contact in the category then the zoom level is set at the very deepest level, I suppose this is level 18 (showing a measure of 2 meters). This is regardless of the default zoom level as set in the plugin settings.

However I would like to be able to set the zoom level manually so that the region in which the contact is situated, will be shown. I tried changing the code for the individual pluging instance to something like this:

{istorelocator height=|600| source=com_contactenhanced category=|30| zoom=|8|}

But the part that I made up myself, "zoom=|8|", did not have any effects. Is it possible to change the zoom level manually in some way?

Kind regards, Frits

Dear oorzaak,

I've implemented the requested feature, so you can set the zoom (for the first load) in the syntax.

I'll send the changes to your email in a few minutes.

Dear tworoads,

The latest version already has this feature. Now you can set a default zoom level by adding zoom=|5| to the plugin syntax. Just change 5 for your desired zoom level.

Zoom levels between 0 (the lowest zoom level, in which the entire world can be seen on one map) and 20 are possible within the default roadmap view. Building outlines, where available, appear on the map around zoom level 17.
