Support Forum

Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

iStore Locator isn't reading my XML file

8 years 7 months ago #20312 by AaronBWG
I've copied the data out of the template XML file called "GreatBritain-Attractions.xml" and edited it for one of our locations but it isn't plotting it on the map.

I changed the XML file it was looking for in the Plugin to my new one too, so it should be looking at the correct one.

Have I done something wrong? I have attached my XML file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Dear Aaron,

Did you test if your XML file is a valid XML file? There are several free XML validators online, for example:
xmlvalidation.com

For some reason the forum is not displaying the attachment. If the problem persists, can you please zip it before attaching it to the post?

Best regards,

Thanks for the tip. It turns out that the place I had added had a "&" symbol in the name, but i hadn't written it in proper html so it wasn't working. Once i changed it to "& amp;" it worked perfectly!

I've found another issue now though... For some reason the map isn't showing up on Google Chrome, it's just a blank grey area. You can interact with it, drag it about, zoom in and out, etc... but the map itself won't show up.

Heres the link incase it helps: 79.170.44.78/charnwood.net/beta/index.php/charnwood-stockists

Do you have any ideas?

Thank you.

Dear Aaron,

Is there aAnt error in the browser's console (F12 key)?

Can you please provide a direct link so I can take a look?

Dear Aaron,

That's odd. There's no error in the console. It is loading correctly when it loads only the component area.
79.170.44.78/charnwood.net/bet...nwood-stockists?tmpl=component

Can you test it with Joomla's Protostar template?
Can you contact your template's developer to see why it is causing this issue?

Have a nice weekend,

Thank you for all of your help, I have managed to get it working now.

It was an issue with one of the features of the template I was using, giving all images a max-width value.

As soon as I turned it off, everything started working again. :)
