Support Forum

Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

smtp error 5.7.1 Sorry your email was administratively denie

Hi, I'm using Joomla 1.6.5 on shared hosting on a Godaddy, windows server. I was able to install the full package of Contact Enhanced. The feedback plugin works when the from address on the form is one of my godaddy mail accounts. When I use my personal email which is XXXXXXX@sbcglobal.net I get the following error

• The following from address failed: X.XXXXXX@sbcglobal.net
Language string failed to load: smtp_error sorry, your mail was administratively denied. (#5.7.1)

Since some emails work, I think I've got it configured correctly.

Of course, I contacted Godaddy and their only solution was for me to use their contact form or ask for some change to the extension. I'm sure I'm not the first to run into this problem with Godaddy, so I hope there's an easy fix? Thanks, Bev

Dear Bev,

What's the Mailer in Joomla's configuration your server is using?

I suggest yo use SMTP. Please read item number 5 in this article:

Hi, Yes, I'm using SMTP. Godaddy only allows relays from an email address they can validate on their server.

I was able to work around the problem by renaming the EMAIL field to "Our Email", setting the value of the field to my server email account on godaddy and making it readonly, so the person sending the feedback can't change it to something else.
This serves as the From Email for godaddy, so they send the email.

I then added a custom field called From Email as a text field, since only one email field is allowed. I deleted the check box for the sender to get a copy of the email, because, configured as I have it now, there's no way to send yourself a copy of the feedback email you send to me.

However, I do have the sender's email address so I can reply to their feedback or question.

If there is a simpler or better way to do it, please let me know. Bev

Dear Bev,

If GoDaddy does not allow this, there is no much I can do for you.
What I can do is to change the controller in a way that it will always send the email using the Joomla From email, configured in the Joomla global Configuration.

Will that work for you?

Best regards,
