Support Forum

Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

Plugin - Articles. How Do We Order Questions Alphabetically

11 years 6 months ago #12839 by brian-reid
Hi there

This is probably a stupid question but we'll ask it anyway.

We are trying to create an Article page with a list of FAQs which allows us to order the questions alphabetically.

So far we have enabled the MooFAQ plugins (Content and Editor Button), created an FAQs category, created an article page linked to the FAQ category with the MooFAQ code embedded. We have then created several article questions also linked to the FAQ category.

The questions display correctly together on the article page but we are unable to work out how to get the questions to list alphabetically. Is this possible or should we be doing this in a different way? We are using Joomla 2.5.

We don't want to create a MooFAQ menu as we don't want a FAQ menu showing on our website.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Brian

Dear Brian,

The default order of articles in MooFAQ is the articles ordering column, so if you need to change the ordering using the Content Plugin you need to change the article ordering.

If you used the menu item you could change the ordering in the menu item;

Dear Douglas

Thanks for your quick reply. We've got the questions arranged alphabetically using your recommended solution.

Thanks again
