Support Forum

Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

Commenting system??

14 years 6 months ago #1317 by mengl
Hi forum,

I have integrated MooFAQ into my site and it works fine. There is only one thing I can't get managed:

I use jcomments as a commenting system, where my visitors can comment articles. It is easy to do: just put "{jcomments on}" at the end of the article. "{jcomments on}" will be hidden and the commenting pages are displayed in its place. Works fine.

So, when I display an article in plain website layout, jcomments will work fine. But when I display the article as a part of MooFAQ, there is no display of the commenting system. Instead, "{jcomments on}" will be displayed as a redable text (i.e. not hidden and replaced).

Does anybody have a solution to this?

If not - does anybody use another commenting system in conjunction with MooFAQ?

Thank you for your help!

Malte

Hi,

I had tried to do so before, and I tried again after you replied to my message.

As jcomments is switched on for the appropriate category, it should be working, even if I do not activate it explicitely within the article, but it is not.

When I put "{jcomments on}" at the end of the article, the words are hidden, but they are not replaced by the comments.

What now? Did you ever use jcomments in MooFAQ?

Dear Malte,

I've never used jcomments with MooFAQ.
I'm very busy right now, I'll download and install it tomorrow to test it. I hope that's ok with you.

Dear Renea,

I had emailed Malte this change and I forgot to update this thread.

Please upload the file attached to [Joomla]/components/com_jcomments/plugins/
After installation you have to enable JComments in Components -> MooFAQ: Click on Parameters in the toolbar;

Please see attached image.

All the comment boxes are being drawn on top of each other. But at least they show up now!

I am using the Default display method (not the Beta one)

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

Please read bellow the answer from JoomlaTune:

JComments doesn't support more then one comment form on the page Sad
So if you place more forms all toolbars, event handlers and etc would be attached to first one.

May be in some future version I found any solution for it but now this feature isn't supported.
