Support Forum

Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

iStoreLocator errors after Joomla 4 upgrade

7 months 1 week ago #27050 by holdensmith1992
After upgrading from J3 -> J4, I haven't been able to get the plugin to search locations. The map will display, but just gets stuck on "searching...". From developer console, i can span the search button and see the following error:
Google Maps JavaScript API has been loaded directly without a callback. This is not supported and can lead to race conditions and suboptimal performance. For supported loading patterns please see https://goo.gle/js-api-loading

Affected page: mojooutdoors.com/dealer-locator

I made no changes to the plugin options since the upgrade. Am I missing something?

I believe I have resolved this issue. If you add an ampersand (&) instead of & in the xml file, a php error is thrown, causing the locations to fail to load.

PHP Warning: SimpleXMLElement::__construct(): Entity: line 5: parser error : xmlParseEntityRef: no name
