Support Forum

Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

Email Header and Thankyou Page Title Says Joomla!

11 years 3 months ago - 11 years 3 months ago #13470 by webdevtim
Joomla! 1.5.26 Contact Enhanced - Version: 1.5.11.3

The "Copy email" for the comments and suggestions we solicit from our members s has an email title of "Copy of: Joomla!: Joomla! Enquiry" and a from: designation of MMManageD. Also, the Thank-you message correctly displays the contents of the "Thank-You Message" I created under the "Thank-you page" tab in Templates except that it has a title of "Joomla!". I didn't enter MMManageD or "Joomla!: Joomla Enquiry" anywhere.

What I did was create a root menu called "Members' Corner" which generated a module called "Members' Corner". Within Members' Corner I created an article layout menu item called "Welcome to the Members' Corner" and in the article also called, "Welcome to the Member's Corner", I added {loadcontact id=|14|} which is the id of the Contact I called "Membership Team" which I assigned the category I previously created called "Members' Corner" and then and the "email template," "copy email template" and "thank-you template." I modified the "Member's Corner" Module so that it would display a single image banner in the right hand panel of the main menu which is a list of one menu item with list-style-type set to none. This works fine, clicking on this takes me to the Members' Corner" page and I am able to view the one article called "Welcome to the Member's Corner" which is the contact form as described above. The form works as well and a email message goes to the Membership Team and a copy of the email goes back to the user and the content of the emails are correct and the contents of the Thank-you page are correct, except for what I described at the top of this discussion

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

By the way I added:

REQUIRED_SIGN_DESC=<span style="text-shadow:2px 2px 2px #ccc;">Fields marked with <span style="color:red;">◥</span> are required.</span>

to com_contact_enhanced.ini /language/en-GB/en-GB so that a red upper right half of a square would be displayed instead of *. The text-shadow was specific to this installation only.

Dear webdevtim,

First of all, please make sure to have the latest version installed.

You can change the Subject Custom Field parameters in order to change the Subject Prefix. CE can either display the Site's name as prefix OR the custom prefix OR no prefix at all;

What's your Site Name? If you use the {site_name} tag in the template it will get your site name. You might need to remove this tag.

I have version 1.5.11.3, current version is 1.5.12 will upgrade now.

No Subject Custom Field Type, so makes sense that subject line is filled in generically.

The from: field in the email defaults to MMManageD. Don't know where this comes from. Would like to set the from: field to "Membership Team"<membershipComments@ae911truth.org> which is the name and email of the Contact used in the form.

Added Subject Custom Field and typed subject line:"World Trade Center 7." Now get "Copy of: Joomla!: World Trade Center 7" for subject in email copy. Get "Joomla!: World Trade Center 7" as Subject for email sent to Membership Team. and get a title of "Joomla!" for the Thank You page.

Waiting for my download of Contact Enhanced to show up in the "My Accounts" >> "My Download" page after paying the $37.00 to get the new version.

Dear webdevtim,

I have sent it to your email.

I'll investigate this when I get home. I'm coming back home from a church conference.

Kind regards,

Thanks, I installed the package. The Thank You page is OK, but the Emails still have Joomla! in subject. Will create a custom redirect page for them and hopefully that gets rid of the Joomla! title.

Dear Webdevtim,

Did you create the Subject Custom Field? Did you change the Subject Prefix?

No I left the Subject prefix as "Site Name" Changed to "Text"

Tried using Load position for the Module Copy and get pretty much the same results as {loadcontact id=|14|}

The only problem left is that the from: field for the user email copy isn't correct. Where do I set that? Or where does your app look to get it?

Dear Webdevtim,

Some mail servers require that the sender (from) is a valid user in the server, that's why I've added the Joomla email as the default email, but you can change it. Just go to Components -> Contact Enhanced -> Options (Button in the toolbar) and set "Email Sender" to Contact under the "Contact Form" tab.
